Avatar Costumes For Kids - The Ideal Outfit Can Be Yours

Avatar is a movie that adults and children around the world have come to love. With its award winning cinematography, special effects and memorable characters, it is no wonder that children are fascinated with the characters. Here are some tips to help you make your own avatar costumes for kids.

Chances are, if your child is a girl, they will want to dress up as Neytiri. Most boys will want to dress as Jake Sully. Some girls may want to dress as the Avatar of Dr. Grace Augustine. Whichever role your child wants to play, it can be easy for them to dress up as a character from Avatar.

For girls who want to be Neytiri, you will need a blue full body bodysuit, as well as a long braided wig, a cloth "apron", a gauntlet, as well as beaded necklaces and bracelets. You could put all this together yourself, however, it is very easy to find this costume at a reputable costume shop. Most of the prepared costumes also include a tail, and feathers and other elements of the costume to make it as real as possible

The Jake Sully Avatar costume is one that can be purchased from a costume shop. However, it is also easy to put together from many boys' current wardrobes. With a blue turtleneck, a pair of black shoes, some khaki pants and a field or expedition jacket, you have almost all you need for your costume. As with the Neytiri costume, you will need a wig or to braid your son's hair to get the full effect. However, many of the Sully costumes include a mask. It is your choice if you have your child wear one or not.

While not many children would dress as Dr. Grace Augustine, the researcher and teacher, it would offer children an opportunity to dress up without feeling self conscious or feeling "naked". To Neytiri's typical costume, slip on a pink or white tank top and a pair of jeans.

While masks are available for both Jake and Neytiri, the real beauty of this costume can be in how you interpret your child's personality and make it shine in their make up. Use a blue body paint as a base coat and apply it to your child's neck, face, lips and ears. Now make dark stripes that look like a zebra or a cat on their face, then add light colored dots in between the stripes. You can add prosthetic ears or simply make them out of paper and attach them with bobby pins.

While many of the Avatar costumes for kids, especially the Sully costumes offer your child the ability to use a mask, remember to safety while trick or treating. Masks offer limited visiblility, making it difficult for children to see and be seen. Trick or treat in groups, preferably with an adult.

Choosing The Ideal Halloween Wigs - Complete The Coolest Looking Halloween Outfits

Halloween wigs are terrific starter items for creating cheap Halloween outfits. If someone wants to drastically change their appearance, Halloween wigs are one of the easiest items to start with. From rainbow clown wigs to latex bald heads, the choices are limitless.

In case you believe you are going to be constrained for precious time when getting ready for Halloween activities, make the most of a super wig to customize your Halloween outfit. Ease it on, touch up that makeup, and you are all set. It is actually a trouble-free idea that can put the most important completing details on an elaborate Halloween outfit.

Have you ever noticed how Halloween wigs can turn the smartest looking guy or gal into the most unrecognizable character? Miss "prim and proper" with every hair in place can suddenly become a 20's flapper flirt or Mr. "Perfect" can look like something from a Rocky Horror movie.

One of the funniest things we ever did was dress my younger brother in a girls dress, and put a Halloween wig on him for some trick-or-treater fun. Our neighbors thought we had left our brother out and picked up a new neighbor kid. There was an uncanny resemblance of my grandmother following us around that got extras of everything! Needless to say, he didn't care about all our teasing so much after that.

To make putting on a new Halloween wig considerably more enjoyable, make use of a wig cap. Having on a good wig cap will help ensure a reliable fit and keeps your wig in its place. What's more, Jack Sparrow may not be quite as gnarly by having his hair on crooked. Lady Gaga may not perform well either if she flipped her wig. Whomever you choose to mimic this Halloween, keep your top on!

Grab a cape and a vampire wig for the evening. With a really unusual wig you can be a nerd, someone from a different era, or a blond. You know what they say, "Blonds have more fun!" Give it a try, and suit up with the trick-or-treaters this Halloween.

Family time is really important to me and so is making lasting memories. Holiday time lends itself to making memories, and Halloween memories are some of my favorites. I usually picked up extra Halloween wigs for the kids to use dressing up in their Halloween outfits. You never know which character may stick his head out from around the corner!
